Philadelphia Publisher, Nic Esposito, Explores Urban Renewal With Release of Contemporary Almanac

Taken from Clair Margheim (Head & The Hand Press) – The Head & The Hand Press will celebrate the renewal and growth occurring in Rust Belt cities with a book release party and a Free Library of Philadelphia discussion panel of the publication, The Rust Belt Rising Almanac. The Almanac is a collection of stories and snapshots about growth, change and loss in America’s Rust Belt cities – from Philadelphia to Pittsburgh, and Cleveland to Detroit.

Neighbors, friends and those in the Philadelphia surrounding area are invited to the Frankford Avenue First Friday on June 7 to stop in participating shops, where the almanac will be showcased, for a celebration of literature and renewal, sponsored by New Kensington Community Development Corporation. The night will also include a reading by Almanac contributor Jeffrey Ziga of Little Baby’s Ice Cream atop their parklet, along with an Almanac inspired ice cream flavor. The celebration will continue into the evening with a dance party at the Philadelphia Sculpture Gym’s beautifully renovated warehouse workspace.
