We never want Halloween to end so this November’s FIRST FRIDAY FAMILY HAPPY HOUR will feature our partners from UPenn with a BRAIN LAB set up in the back room!
The Changing Brain Lab at the University of Pennsylvania studies how the brain changes as people grow up and learn new things. At PlayArts Happy Hour, the Brain Lab will show children real human and animal brains, and teach them how brains work! Very spooky! We will also tell parents about UPenn’s ongoing studies on play and brain development, and share information about how they can participate.

PAINT YOUR PINT! In collaboration with Collective Arts Brewing, come on out to KCFC and paint your own pint glass! This is totally FREE to do!
ART! The Artist being featured this month is Cathey White! Cathey is an artist, educator and native of Philadelphia. White’s paintings speak to the beauty and color that can be found throughout the muted background of the city. White’s work explores local architecture, urban archaeology and the grittier side of the city. The urban environment and the beauty found in typically unnoticed places inspire White.
“I am greatly influenced by the street art I see around me, and the layered walls that tell the constantly changing story of the community. When I look at the walls in Philadelphia, there is such a history; one story on top of another on top of another….” White is a native of Philadelphia and has most recently shown work at Philadelphia Distilling, Wayvine Winery and The House Gallery.
