Are you tired of looking at the trash and debris on your block?  Do you wish your block was cleaner and more attractive to customers?  What if you could work towards creating a better block and get noticed while doing it?

New Kensington Community Development Corporation (NKCDC) is searching for Adopt-A-Block participants who will act as neighborhood cleaning ambassadors.  This is an exciting program open to individuals, businesses, or organizations willing to volunteer approximately 4 hours per month to help keep the sidewalks and curbs clean. If you wish to participate in this rewarding program NKCDC will provide free tool kits and training.  Participant activities include collecting and disposing of litter, removing graffiti and bandit signs, reporting violations to 3-1-1, communicating with NKCDC, and participating in larger community cleaning efforts.

Aside from the benefits of keeping the neighborhood safe and clean, your actions will help attract more customers to support the local economy. All participants will be rewarded for their commitment through recognition in NKCDC publications, a poster to display in your storefront, a discount for space in NKCDC’s Business Guide and the opportunity for group marketing with other participants .

More information on the Adopt-A-Block program can be found in our Adopt-A-Block brochure.

Contact NKCDC to sign up today. Call 215-427-0350 x120 or email mhenry@nkcdc.org.  NKCDC will coordinate a time for your organization to meet for a brief safety and instructional overview of the program and receive your tool kit.
