Information for Vendors

We are looking for vendors who make handmade one of a kind arts and crafts for the Greensgrow Holiday Bazaar in December. This is a fun and festive event that shows off the talent in our neighborhood to the Greensgrow community. At that time of year Greensgrow sells Holiday trees and greens, we also sell gifts and have a winter CSA with a small winter farmstand. Greensgrow is dedicated to social entrepreneurship and promoting local small local businesses like yours that make life in our neighborhood better, we hope you will join us!

PRICING & PAYMENT
The price depends on where you live or work, $35 or $50 per spot/per day. If you are accepted, we will email you the amount to pay. Payment is expected promptly-if you don’t pay within the specified time-we assume you forfeit the space.

APPLICATION  & ACCEPTANCE
We are thrilled you are interested in vending with us–we know this is a busy time for you! Spread the word with friends-we always like to have some new faces at the event. Remember-This is a curated event, application does not guarantee admission. Previous participation does not imply admission.

We will review your application and get back to you on or before November 13. If you are chosen to participate in the event, we will send you directions for payment at that time.

Apply for dates that you are available. Vendors must stay through the duration of the event and set up prior to the event time. We have limited spots, if you are not sure you can vend on a specific date-please don’t apply for that date.

Food: If you have not specifically been accepted as a food vendor, please do not bring food items to sell at the bazaar. We don’t have the licenses to cover you. We sell edible gifts from licensed vendors.

Please no emails or calls to the farm or the office – we will be in touch. We are a small non-profit with limited staff. We get our vendors information as soon as we can about the event. Thanks for understanding!

SET UP
Vendor set up starts one hour before opening. Vendors must be set up by opening time and stay for the entire day. Everyone will get an 7 foot space in the greenhouse. Fits a 6 foot table. Saturdays 5th & 12th, the event is 10-4. Sundays 6th & 13th, the event is 11-4.

NOTES
The event takes place in our greenhouse in December, so the temperatures can vary from cool in the morning to very hot in the afternoon. There is some refreshment available during the event, but you may want to bring water, snacks, food. You may want to bring a friend to give you a break when you need to grab a bite or have a bathroom break.

We’re looking for a wide variety of artists, collectives, craftspeople and small businesses that are creating high quality, affordable items, including (but certainly not limited to): art of all kinds, handmade goods like bags, jewelry, housewares, etc, food items (we love food), plant items such as terrariums or flower arrangements, fabulously curated vintage selections, clothes, local businesses promoting appropriate services (massages, acupuncture, tattoos, etc..) and more…  Unconventional is good. We like unconventional.

Venue
The Philadelphia Sculpture Gym, located in the heart of Fishtown, at 1834 E. Frankford Avenue. 

Each selected vendor will receive an approx. 6ft long space.  You must supply your own table and chair(s). (We have some tables available for $5 each. Be sure to contact us if you are interested in renting one.)

Cost
Selected artists will pay $50 for the 6ft space for one day, $75 for both days. If selected payment will be due by November 14th.  Instructions for payment will be sent along with selection notification.


Installation
Selected artists/crafters can set up Friday, December 4th starting at 12 noon.

Art Shop 2015

 

Event Dates:This year’s Art Shop will be held Friday, December 4th, 6pm-10pm & Saturday, December 5th 10am-2pm at Circle of Hope 2007 Frankford Ave. Phila Pa. 19125.

Setup Information:There will be a “set up night” on Thursday, December 3rd from 6pm – 8pm, if you’d like to set your space up early. Your items will be locked into the space over night for safety. You can also come as early as 4pm on Friday, to set up. Know that around 5pm parking becomes very difficult, and so we strongly recommend the Thursday night set up.

What is included in your fee?$40.00 gets you a 6’x5’ space, which we will tape off on the floor for you. You can set it up however you’d like. We will have plenty of chairs for you, but we do ask that you bring your own tables, clothing racks, shelves, lights, decorations, etc. to make the space your own. Do bring an extension cord if you need access to electricity.

The organizers of Art Shop are all volunteers, who offer their services free of charge.  The $40 you are paying to rent your space goes directly to the community of Circle of Hope (www.circleofhope.net), who in turn offers the Circle of Hope Gallery space for free to artists to show their work for the remainder of the year.

Sharing your spot:Sharing a space with another artist is welcome and encouraged. We are charging per space, not per artist, so if you don’t think you can fill it by yourself, you are more than welcome to share.

Spot reservations and requests:Spaces will be filled on a first come, first serve basis. We fill up the first floor first and then the second. There are about 35 spots and we will stop accepting applications once all of the spots are filled. The applications are not to judge your work, all are welcome, they are just a way for us to stay organized.

Hanging things and access to electrical outlets:Although we can’t nail, tack or tape things on to the walls there is a hanging system up on the first floor that we have sliding hooks for you to hang things from. Bring wire or string to hang things. There is no hanging system on the second floor, but folks have found creative solutions to that in the past.

We do have outlets, but it would be best if you brought an extension cord just in case.

On your application please add a note if you would like either of these things, and know that these requests too are fulfilled on a first come first serve basis.
 

Wifi availability: Yes and it’s free. We’ll post the password around the space for vendors during the event.
