Many among us have felt that we were destined for great things. That the world held more in store for us that a common life of the grind. But for just as many, the dream has failed to materialize. It is the dichotomy of this age that the one quality that is the foundation of greatness, the ability to tolerate, is the one in shortest supply. But how does the ability to tolerate lead to greatness, and how do we become tolerant while living in an intolerant world? Come to Mantra Lounge to find out the secret from the ancient yogic text and enjoy a great dinner afterward!

Look Up: New paintings by Nick Cassway at Colorspace Labs

This First Friday at Colorspace Labs Artist Nick Cassway presents Look Up, a collection of new paintings that depict ways that cosmological phenomena are viewed and considered. The paintings are created using computer cut stencils and paired with audacious color palettes resulting in bold, impactful imagery-combining an expressive drawing style with a crisp machined edge.

A statement from Nick:
My work merges commercial design, vernacular materials and bold, impactful imagery to examine systems of belief. Using portraiture, my work builds a personal connection with viewers providing an opportunity to see themselves within their fellow man.

Frito Bastien: Solo Exhibition

Born in Haiti, Frito Bastien came to the United States in 1991 fleeing political turmoil under the Duvalier regimes. Collaborating with Philadelphia’s Mural Arts Program, Mr. Bastien created works depicting scenes and memories from Haiti. His murals and works on canvas describe both real and imagined landscapes filled with people and animals. Through his blending of narrative realism and dreamlike perspective, Mr. Bastien invites the viewer into his world.

Little Berlin is honored to present a solo exhibition of Frito Bastien’s work, on view December 2nd through December 17th. Please join us to celebrate at the opening reception Saturday December 2nd, 6:00 to 9:00 pm.
